How to use the Is Snapchat down?

  1. We contact Snapchat

Three of Snapchat’s public services, checked at most once a minute.

  2. You see each result

Up or down, with how long Snapchat took to answer.

  3. Fix your side

If everything is up here, the problem is likely your app, phone or network.

Snapchat is up but not working for you

  1. Switch between Wi-Fi and mobile data. Some networks (schools, offices) block Snapchat.
  2. Close Snapchat fully and open it again.
  3. Update the app from the App Store or Google Play.
  4. Clear the cache: Snapchat Settings → Clear Data → Clear Cache. Your snaps and chats stay.
  5. Restart your phone.
  6. Turn off any VPN. Snapchat sometimes blocks VPN addresses.

What this check can’t see

We test from one place on the internet. An outage limited to one country, one mobile network or one feature (like chat or the map) may not show up here. Snapchat’s own status updates are posted on X at @snapchatsupport.

Is Snapchat down?: questions

Why does Snapchat say “Could not connect”?

Usually a network problem on your side: try mobile data instead of Wi-Fi, or the other way round.

Snaps won’t send but the app opens?

Check that Snapchat has permission to use mobile data, then clear the cache. If it lasts more than an hour, it’s often a Snapchat outage.
